LEAGUE OF MOTHERS.
The monthly meeting of the Takapuna j branch of the League of Mothers was held on Tuesday afternoon in the Parish Hall. There was a largo attendance of members, and Mrs. Bartrum presided. Mrs. S. Irwin, who is a member of the Greenhitho Women's Institute, gave an instructive address upon the history and work of the institute throughout the world. In outlining its origin, which took placo in Canada, Mrs. Irwin sketched the gradual growth of branches in all corners of the world. In New Zealand the founder is Miss Spencer, of Hawke's Bay. Mrs. Irwin stated that the Greenhitho branch was creating considerable interest among the country people and its membership was steadily increasing. Afternoon tea was scrvod and concluded a very pleasant meeting.
