CARD AFTERNOON.
To aid tho work of tho Mission Sisters, of Ellerslie, a card afternoon, organised by Mrs. von Sturmer and Mrs. Fraser Smith, was hold in the Mutual Clubrooms, Palmerston Buildings, yesterday. Thirty tables woro in use and bridgo and five hundred wero played. Lilies and daisies in all tho shades of mauve and purple decorated the rooms, as well as palms and foliage plants. Tho prize winners wero Miss Irwin, first; Mrs. Aldcrson, second; and Miss Van Osseler was tho winner of. the hidden number. Tho committeo assisting Mrs. von Sturmor and Mrs. Fraser Smith included Mrs. Prondorcast, Mrs. Maine, Mrs. McLivor, Mrs. W Scholium. Mrs. O'Neill, Mrs. Twoman, Mrs. Hill, Mrs. Ganley, Mrs. Keeuan, Miss Mavis Grevatt, Mrs. Emmott, Mrs. Kolly, Mrs. Nerheny, Mrs. Drysdalo, Mrs. Tate, Mrs. Hazard, Mrs. Bain, Miss Cromin and Miss Gummings.
