PREPARATIONS AT WAIHI. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. 1 WAIHI, Monday. Tho commercial representative of tho railways, Mr. A. W. Wellstcad, visited Waihi on Saturday afternoon and met tho Mayor, Mr. W. M. Wallnutt, and members of the committee for the reception of tho Auckland business men who aro to visit Waihi on October 30. Tho chief item on tho tentative programme is an inspection of the underground workings of the Waihi mine. If time permits the party will be shown over the Victoria battery at Waikino.
