A motor accident at the Port Levy Road last night resulted in tho death of Mrs. Irene Bryant, aged 20 years, wife of Mr. Clarrio Bryant, of Little River. A motor-lorry, in which Mr. and Mrs. Bryant wero driving, on a steep part of tho road got out of contM at a bad patch, and, after striking the bank, capsized, fatally injuring Mrs. Bryant, and inflicting minor injuries oil Sir. Bryant. Mr. Bryant is employed by tho Banks Peninsula Power Board. CAR CRASHES INTO BANK. ONE OCCUPANT ARRESTED. One of the occupants, George Larson, was taken to tho Hawcra Hospital in an unconscious condition, and the other, James Murphy, was arrested. Owing to the course tho car had followed it was given a wide berth by other motorists and cyclists, who anticipated that it would leave tho road or strike a bank. It is believed that the two men camo from Auckland .and started their journey in tho car from Ngaere. Just before the accident occurred the car was met by another car driven by Sergeant Henry, of tho Hawcra police, and a collision was narrowly averted. A soven-seater motor-car wont over a cliff 011 tho Lyttelton sido of tho Lyttel-ton-Sumnor Road last night and was smashed to matchwood. Tho car belongs to a Lyttelton doctor, but apparently no ono was in it when it took tho plunge. Tho car was discovered this evening.
