KILLED ON WHARF.
DEATHS OF VOLUNTEERS." WITNESSES' FEAR OF STRIKERS. (Received October 8, 8.38 p.m.) MELBOURNE. Oct. 8. An inquest was held to-day concerning the deaths of the two free labourers, Samuel Bridges and Arthur Mee, who ■were killed on Thursday while they were working cargo on tho wharf. The coroner returned a verdict of accidental death. He asked the press not to publish the names of the volunteer workers who gave evidence, as they feared tho vengeance of tho strikers.
