OLD HAMILTON RESIDENT.
92ND BIRTHDAY CELEBRATED. [by TELEGRAM. —OWN COIUIIrSrONDENX. ] HAMILTON. Monday. Hamilton's oldest resident, Mr. Philip Lequesne, celebrated his 92nd birthday yesterday. Mr. Lequesne was born in Jersey Island on October 7, 1836, and he arrived in Auckland on May 10,1860. He opened a store there six years later and two years after the establishment of the military settlement at Hamilton he moved hero and opened a general store. Ho was afterwards for some time proprietor of the Waikato Hotel. Mr. Lequesne is now living in retirement at Hamilton East. He has possession of all his faculties and is; remarkably halo and hearty.
