FOOTBALL CASUALTIES.
LEAGUE AND RUGBY.
MANY PLAYERS INJURED.
Numerous football casualties wero attended by members of the St. John Ambulance Brigade on duty at the various sports grounds on Saturday. A member of the Grafton Club, J. Noakes, of 13, Charlton Avenue, Mount Eden, was removed to tho nctoital with concussion. His condition is stated to be satisfactory.
Severe injuries to tho throat as tho result of a kick necessitated the admission to the hospital of Edgar Walter Perry, of 12, Hopetoim Street, Ponsonby, who was playing in a match at Otahuhu. A fracture of tho leg was received by William Buchanan, of 10, Richmond Hill, City, and ho was also taken to hospital. A member of the Mangere senior B League team, P. Daniels, sustained a fracture of the left ankle, while t another League ♦ player, C. V. Young, of Onehunga, fractured his ankle. A fracture of the leg was sustained by a Rugby player, G. W. Darrock, of Stanley Bay. In a match between Grafton and Eden fourth grade teams, W. C. Farrant sustained a broken collarbone, while another player in the same game, R. Buck, received injuries to his ribs. After receiving treatment both were able to return to their, homes.
