THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL.
The Governor-General, Sir Charles Fergusson, had a very busy "week-en'd, Oh Saturday morning he attended a meeting of the Executive Council, and later spent a short time, with Lady Alice Fergusson, at the Auckland Racing Club's Winter Meeting at Ellorslie. On Saturday afternoon His Excellency presented the Earl Jellicoo Trident to the Calliope Company of Sea Scouts and then inspected Boy Scouts and Cubs. On Saturday evening Sir Charles was the guest of honour a,t a gathering of members of the Auckland Orphans' Club. Yesterday morning Sir Charles and Lady Alice Fergusson attended a special King's Birthday service at St. Matthew's Church.
This morning His Excellency will inspect a parade of about 5000 members of military and naval units at the Domain in honour of the King's Birthday. He will later be present at a luncheon to be given to King's Empire Veterans at tlie Town Hall bv the City Council, the Patriotic Association, and the Returned Soldiers' Associatoin. This afternoon Their Excellencies will be present at the second day's racing at Ellerslie, and this evening they will give an official dinner party at Government House in honour of the King's Birthday.
