MINISTERS' MOVEMENTS.
The Prime Minister, Mr. Coates, accompanied by Mrs. Coates, arrived from Wellington by express on Saturday. He attended a meeting of the Executive Council, at Government House, in the morning, and in the afternoon went to the races. This morning Mr. Coates will be engaged with private deputations. Similar business will occupy him to-morrow morning, but in the afternoon he will visit the Newton School in connection with a drainage matter. Mr. F. D. Thomson, permanent head of the Prime Minister's department and clerk of the Executive Council, and Mr. T. R. Aickin, private secretary to Mr. Coates, are accompanying him. Sir Francis Bell arrived in Auckland on Saturday morning. Ho is expected to return to 'Wellington early this week.
