FOOTBALLERS INJURED.
BUS CRASHES INTO BRIDGE. ACCIDENT AT NEWCASTLE. (Received May 27, 5.53 p.m.) SYDNEY. May 11. A motor-bus, which was carrying 40 footballers, crashed iiito a bridge at Newcastle last evening. By means of a telephone conversation between Ottawa and London the Prime Minister, Mr. W. L. Mackenzie King, participated in the Empire Day celebration in Hyde Park, London. Thirty-seven London shopkeepers competed for the Paris Cup for the best window display of "New Zealand produce during Empire Week. There were 135 screenings of Dominion films in the period.
