DR. W. H. FITCHETT. HISTORIAN AND CHURCHMAN. -• - . .. . MELBOURNE, May 26. The death has occurred of the Rev. Dr. William Henry Fitchett, the distinguished Methodist historian. For many yearn he was principal of the Methodist Ladies' College at Hawthorn. He had been married and had fivn sons and one daughter. Dr. W. H. Fitchett was bom in. England, and with his parents came to Australia in 1854, and became a minister of the Methodist Cburclr. His books have had a large sale, including "Deeds that Won the Empire," "Fights for the Flag," "Nelson and His Captains,", and books on religion, including "Wesley and His Times. He was for 46 years principal of the Methodist College at Hawthorn. He founded "Life"* in 1904, and edited it for many years. \ MR. T. S. BUTLER. Butler, the chairman of the Naval Committee of the House of Representatives, aged 72. . Mr. Thomas S. Butler was born in Pennsylvania in 1855.
