AMERICAN TAXATION.
REDUCTION RECOMMENDED. SENATE FAVOURS PROPOSAL. Australian and N.Z. Press Association. (Received Mny 28, 5.5 p.m.) v WASHINGTON, May 25. The Senate has adopted the report of the conference between members of the Senate and the House of Representatives recommending a reduction in taxation. It decided to reject the amendment in tho bill providing for the publication of the returns made for income tax purposes. The conference between members of tho two Houses of Congress recommended a reduction of £44,699,000 in the estimated revenue from taxation. It also recommended the non-publication of income tax returns, which was proposed iti the bill.
