ANTARCTIC FLIGHT.
AMERICAN AIRMAN'S PLANS. PROBABLE VISIT TO DOMINION. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCiAT'ON. ] DUNEDIN, Sunday.. The Otago Harbour Board has communicated with Commander Richard E. Byrd, of the United States Navy, the famous airman explorer, offering him the facilities of the port as a fitting-out base for his party before it proceeds to 'the Ross Sea for the South Pole expedition. Commander Byrd has replied that he is aware the port of Otago has been associated with the expeditions of Scott and Shackleton and that he will probably call there. The secretary informed the board yesterday that the American party was likely to come to Dunedin with the whaler C. A. Larsen when it returned in November.
