Musical items, a brief address hy the president, Miss Jitlcn Melville, and socia! intercourse were.* Enjoyed at the first meeting for the year of tho Women's Political Association, held in the Pi'iscilla Tea Rooms last evening A large gathering of members and friends wero present, and vases of autumn-tinted chrysanthemums arranged on tho tables formed the artistic decorations. Miss Melville welcomed new and old members to this, tho first, meeting of tho year, and stressed tho need for particular interest and activity cn the part of the members, in view of the elections which take place in a few months' time. She explained to new ipembevs that the ohject of tho association was not to take part in tho elections as an organisation, as supporters of almost all political parties were represented in the association. Its object was to get women back into Parliament, and this object she thought should bo actively supported. During the evening musical items were given by Miss Batchelor, who played pianoforte solos, Mrs. Harold King, who sang, and Mr. Carder, who played flute solus.
