AERIAL SURVEY OF CITY.
PROPOSAL FOR AUCKLAND.
VALUE IN TOWN PLANNING.
The application of aerial photography to town planning was discussed at a meeting of tho Auckland Town Planning Association executive last evening. As the carrying out of a survey from the air was beyond the finances of tho association, it was decided to bring tho proposal before the town planning committee of the City Council. Mr. W. Page Rowe said the Canadian Government had been carrying out such aerial surveys for some time. The idea would appeal to the military authorities as a means of training aviators and giving them valuable experience.
Mr. E. V. Blako staid tho Christchurch City Council liad obtained an estimate of £3BO for an aerial survey there.
"It would be within the means of the City Council," said the chairman, Mr. W. J. Holdsworth. He suggested that he and Professor C. R. Knight should bring the matter before the town planning committee of the City Council where it would be supported by the members of the association who were on the committee.
