DOMAIN WINTER GARDENS.
COMPLETION OF EXTENSIONS.
OFFICIAL OPENING SHORTLY.
The additions to the winter gardens and the new palm court in tho Domain are nearing .completion, and arrangements are being made to hand them over to the City Council at a function to be held on the afternoon of Thursday, April 26.
The extensions were made possible through the generosity of a group of citizens associated with Mr. W. Elliot, the group subscribing £II,OOO for tho work. Mr. Elliot waited on the Mayor, Mr. G. Baildon, yesterday, and proffered the key of the extension, but tho Mayor insisted that the occasion was one which should bo marked by some official function.
The City Council is arranging for the installation of a heating system in the extended winter garden and will provide the garden and the court with • palms, shrubs, etc.
