Gladys Rae, aged three years, daughter of Mr. John Mabey, farmer, of JL'apatawa, was severely burned last evening when playing with a fire. Her clothes caught alight, and her mother, returning after getting the mail, found her in a serious condition. Medical aid was summoned, and the child was sent into the hospital at Dannevirke, but she died at 11 o'clock.
