CARS COLLIDE HEAD-ON.
ACCIDENT NEAR DANNEVIRKE AUCKLAND MAN BADLY HURT. [BY TELEGEAPH. OWN CORRESPONDENT.] DANNEVIRKE, Tuesday. As the result of a head-on collision between two motor-cars on the Matamau Road, about eight miles from Dannevirke, at 4 o'clock this afternoon, serious injuries were sustained by Mr. Horace Walters, aged 20, commercial traveller, of Auckland.
Mr. Walters, who was sitting beside tho driver of one of the cars, was thrown through the windscreen by the force of the impact, and received extensive injuries. The other occupants of the two cars escaped with a shaking. Mr. Walters was admitted to the Dannevirke Hospital. His condition lato this evening was stated to bo serious.
