SOUTH AMERICAN TRADE,
REDUCTION IN THE SIZE
A reduction in the size of apples which will bs accepted for export to South America this season has been agreed to by the Fruit Export Control Board. All varieties down to count 138 will be taken instead of only to count 125. The lowering of the sizes has been made necessary owing to the smallness of the greater part of the fruit in this season's crop. While all the varieties are reported to be very clean and of good quality, the prolonged dry spell throughout the country has militated against the growth of the apples. «,
