MOVEMENTS OF WARSHIPS.
FRENCH SLOOP CASSIOPEE. VISIT TO NEW ZEALAND. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WELLINGTON. Thursday. A radio message has been received fiom the French sloop Cassiopee stating that she will arrive at Wellington at 3 p.m. to-morrow from Noumea. 'Tha Cassiopee is under the command of Commander P. Auverney and is likely to bo on the New Zealand coast for some little time, and will visit various ports.
There are about 100 officers and men on board the sloop, which is the French representative on the Pacific Station. She will be here until Wednesday next, when she will leave for Milford Sound. After that she will call at other West Coast sounds and then at Dunedin, Timaru, Lyttelton and Auckland. LABURNUM AND VERONICA. MUSKETRY TRAINING ASHORE. [by telegeaph.—own correspondent.] WELLINGTON, Thursday. The warships Laburnum and Veronica are due at Wellington on Thursday next, the former from Lyttelton and the latter from Picton. They will bo here until April 2, during which time the ship's complements will undergo instruction in musketry training at Trentham. From Wellington the Laburnum will go to Wanganui and the Veronica to Nelson.
