THE UNEMPLOYED.
Sir, —"Blacksmith" asks why don't the employers do something for the unemployed ? I would ask, why don't the Labour people set tho example and pool their money to employ some of those out of work—start some industry; in fact, do something besides talk ? The one good thing the employers do is to organise industry, so that labour can have work, and the results of same. But why leave it all to them, for if we are to believe the street corner orators the employers function only indifferently, to put it mildly, so why not start industry from the Trades Hall and employ some of those out of work under Labour conditions and Labour remuneration, and take the profit for themselves ? Do Something.
