POLICE FEAR A PLOT. / " MR. COSGRAVE A PASSENGER. ACCIDENT CAUSES ONE DEATH. ■ ! By Telegraph—Presa Association —Copyright. A. and N.Z.-Sun. OTTAWA, Jan. 30. A train, which was bringing Mr. W. T. Cosgrave, President of the Irish Free State, to Ottawa from Philadelphia, was derailed at Limoges. Mr. Cosgrave and the members of his party were uninjured. A road foreman was killed and the driver and a fireman injured. It is believed the engine of the train ran into an open switch. The officials of the Canadian National Railway sent a special train to bring Mr. Cosgrave the remaining 30 miles to Ottawa. Reports that the disaster was an attempt upon Mr. Cosgrave's life caused secret service officers and mounted police to rush to the scene. They were under orders to make a complete investigation in order to determine whether someone had tampered with the switch. A thorough inquiry has been ordered Tiy the Federal Minister of Railways, Mr. C. A. Dunning.
