WARATAHS LEAVE ENGLAND. APPRECIATION OF PLAYERS. A. nnd N.Z. LONDON. Jan. SO. Summing up the tour of the New South Wales Rugby team the Morning Post says: —" Everybody is sorry to say good-bye to them. T'.ie brilliant opportunism of our old friends Lawton and Wallace, the all-round good work of the forwards, especially their hooking, and play in the lineouts, will be remembered by historians of Rugby football. The Waratahs have added two pictures to our portrait gallery of truly outstanding players. J. Ford is as great in all departments of forward play as was the New Zealander, Maurice Brownlee. The unerring and infinitely resourceful fullback Ross, is in the same class as George Nepia, and the Devon and England player, H. T. Gamlin. They played the game for its own sake, with a cheery zest which was somehow lacking in the austere and implacable New Zealand teams. Perhaps the woman spectator, who said, ' they aro such a human lot,' summed up their characteristic merits." • ENGLISH ASSOCIATION CUP MATCHES IN FOURTH ROUND. A. and N.Z.-Sun. LONDON. Jan. SO.
