FRICTION WITH SEAMEN

STOP-WORK MEETING HELD. PAY TO BE FORFEITED. A. and N.Z. SYDNEY, Dec. 29. In defiance of the Commonwealth Steamship Owners' Association the interstate seamen held their monthly stopwork meeting yesterday instead of on Tuesday, as the latter was a public holiday.

The owners say the men committed a breach of the recent agreement, which states that the stop-work meeting must be held on the last Tuesday of each month, and the men, therefore, will forfeit their pay.
