TRANSTASMAN FLIGHT.
TRIAL OF MONOPLANE. SUCCESSFUL TEST HELD. (Received December 29, 11.5 p.m.) A. and N.Z. MELBOURNE. Dec. 29. The plane which will be used by the New Zealanders in their flight to the Dominion underwent a successful test flight at Point Cook It was piloted by Captain G. Hood. The machine left the ground within 100 yds. of the starting point, and after remaining up for some time effected an excellent, landing. The officials at Point Cook says the airmen will probably start on the flight to Sydney on Friday morning.
