RACECOURSE INCIDENT.
HUSBAND AND WIFE FINED. Policemen carried Frances Alice Gordon, aged 32, screaming from the El'erslie racecourse on Wednesday, afternoon, and arrested her husband, David Douglas Gordon, aged 35, a labourer. In the Police Court yesterday both were charged with being disorderly while drunk on the course. Evidence given by the arresting constables was to the effect that the man had been carrying beer to his .wife until an officer told him to stop. Both had had sufficient liouor then. A scene was created, and the woman sat on the ground. " They attracted more attention than the races," said Constable Buckley. " They live at Onehunga, and are a nuisance at any, race meeting," said SubInspector McCarthy. Gordon was fined £4 and his wife
