FOOTBALLERS HONOURED.
AUCKLAND REPRESENTATIVES PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES. A special meeting of delegates io the Auckland Rugby Union was hold in the Chamber of Commerce last ex-ening for the purpose of honouring the footballers who had represented the Auckland province during the past season. Mr. J. Arneil, president of the union, occupied the chair. Each member of the team was presented with a photograph of the team, together with a jersey. A similar gift was also made to Mr. V. R. Meredith, sole selector of the team. In referring to the team's unbeaten record. the chairman said that as kn old player and as a member of the executive, he was quite satisfied that the sole selector method was the correct one. Ho paid a tribute to the work Mr. Meredith had done during the season. Replying to the congratulations offered him, Mr. Meredith said ho saw no reason why those players who had taken part in the representative games should not impart to the members of their clubs the Knowledge of methods and tactics used in the higher games.
After the function had concluded the delegates discussed a number of amendments to rules, chiefly concerning junior football.
