MOTION OF CENSURE.
GOVERNMENT AND MINERS. LABOUR AND MR. BALDWIN. A. and N.Z.-Sun. LONDON. Nov. 17. In the House of Commons to-day the Leader of the Labour Party, Mr. Ramsay Mac Donald, asked whether, in view of the grave importance of the position of the coalmining industry, the Premier, Mr. Baldwin, would take an early opportunity of making a statement on the subject. Mr. Baldwin, in reply, said the position of the Government with respect to the coal industry would have been fully explained yesterday by the president of the Board of Trade, Sir Philip Cunliffe-Lister, but for the unfortunate incident which then occurred. In the circumstances he could not promiso a further opportunity for discussion. Mr. Mac Donald then gave notice of a motion, protesting that on the motion involving the censure of the Government in this connection the Prime Minister had deliberately evaded any defence or explanation .
