MURDER IN HOME.
WOMAN DISCOVERED DEAD. CRIME OF BURGLAR 5 SUSPECTED. (Received October 8, 1.90 ajn.) A. and N.Z. SYDNEY. Oct. 7. The body of Mrs. Elizabeth Downes was found at her home in Ashfield by her son when the latter returned from work. The woman's head was battered in. It is thought Mrs. Downes was surprised by a burglar, who battered her head with a flat iron.
