SUMMER TIME ACT.

APPRECIATION OF MR. SIDEY. NATIONAL MEMORIAL MOOTED. [BY TELEGRAPH. PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON. Friday. A representative meeting of citizens was held to-day to organise a national movement to provide a memorial to commemorate the passing of the Summer Time Bill, and to express appreciation of Mr. T. K. Sidey's services in connection with the bill. The meeting was presided over by the Mayor, Mr. G. A. Troup. It resolved to form a national organisation, with Sir Truby King as president, the Mayors of cities and boroughs of the Dominion to be vice-presidents, and a Dominion representative committee of management, to be nominated, to organise the movement throughout New Zealand.
