WELLINGTON STATION.
RECEPTION IN AUSTRALIA. Transmissions from the new and powerful New Zealand station, 2YA, appear* to be improving steadily, states the Melbourne Argus. Many listeners with multivalve receivers are picking up the programmes fairly regularly, although, owing to the time difference, they cannot be heard until about dusk in Melbourne, and transmissions cease about 8.30 p.m., •which is rather before the transmissions are able to reach their full volume for 'Australia. Reception from 2YA is not restricted to owners of elaborate valve sets, continues the journal. A Melbourne listener with a home-made onevalve set reported he heard the last part of a recent Sunday evening transmission from 2YA.
