NEW DAIRY SEASON.
AUCKLAND PRODUCTION. LARGE INCREASE SHOWN. RETURNS FOR TWO MONTHS. Dairy production in the Auckland province this season has so far eclipsed that of the corresponding period of last year, there being an increase in butter-fat of 48 per cent. Since Jnly 1 the butter received into store by the Auckland Farmers' Freezing Company has totalled 87,070 boxes, as compared with 58,350 in 1926, an increase of 28,720 boxes, or nearly 50 per cent. During August 68,110 boxes were received at the grading stores, compared with 48,497 in 1926, an increase of 19,613 boxes. The output of cheese shows a great increase over last year. Since the beginning of July 3589 crates have been taken into store, as against 2682 for the same period of 1926. During August the cheese received totalled 2028 boxes, as compared with 1215 in August, 1926, an increase of 813 boxes or 67 per cent. Reduced to terms of butter-fat the dairy output of this season totals 4,287,9311b., against 2,898,2651b. last year, an increase of 1,399,6661b., or 48 per cent.
