MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. AUCKLAND TOURING TEAMNO MATCH AGAINST BULLER. The Management Committee of the Auckland Rugby League met last evening, Mr. G. Rhodes presiding. Consideration was given to an application from the Huntly Club for entry in the Roope Rooster competition. It was decided to reply regretting the conditions applied only to local teams. A request for a match between St. George Club, Sydney, and a South Auckland team in the Waikato was referred to the manager of the visiting team. A lengthy discuusion arose over the itinerary of the Auckland touring team, and Mr. W. J. Davidson asked whether it was not possible even at this late hour to include Buller in the trip to the West Coast. Mr. D. P. Deere said Buller was now a stronghold of the League game, and it was to be regretted that it should be deprived of a game against Auckland. Mr. Rhodes agreed with the speakers, but on the ecoro of expense only it was impossible to consider the position. The of taking the team from Nelson to Buller by car would entail an expenditure of £65. Ho would be the first to assist the Bulier League, but the cost was too great and the Auckland League was not in a position to carry the extra burden. Mr. C. Adarnson suggested the Buller League should be invited to play a match in Auckland early next season. It was eventually decided to assist the West Coast League in the expenses of the Buller players taking part in the combined West Coast game at Greymouth. It was further agreed to extend an invitation to the Buller League to play a match in Auckland early next season. Mr. W. Mincham was appointed manager of the Auckland touring team.
