BROADCAST LECTURES.
EFFECTS IN BRITAIN. DEMAND FOR LITERATURE. (British Official "Wireless.) A. and N.Z. LONDON. Aug. 19. The public libraries throughout Britain report that in recent months there have been heavy demands for books recommended by lecturers whose addresses on literary and scientific subjects have been broadcast by wireless. Lectures on music and art similarly broadcast have also necessitated additions of local libraries to meet the de- " mands of listeners. . The question of procuring more effective collaboration between the public libraries and the British Broadcasting Corporation in catering for broadcast listeners will be specially discussed at the international conference of librarians to be held at Edinburgh next month. - -
