AUCKLAND ORPHANS' CLUB.

EX-SOLDIERS AS GUESTS. The fortnightly gathering of the Auck land Orphans' Club, hold in Scots Hall on Saturday ovening, was largely attended. Mr. A. C. Paterson, vice-presi dent, extended a cordial welcome to a party, of disabled ex-soldiers from the Evelyn Firth Home, and also to Mr. 11. Borrodale, of Brisbane, elocution adjudicator at the Auckland cofneptitions, and a popular performer at the club's gatherings 12 years ago, Mr. F. W. Slater, of Wanganui, musical adjudicator; and Mr. F. Adeane, secretary to the Auckland competitions A most enjoyable programme was given.
