FIRES AT WELLINGTON.

HOUSE AND TEA KIOSK. WIND FANS THE FLAMES. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION. J WELLINGTON, Friday. A fire broke out at six o'clock this evening in a five-roomed house at Roseneath. Ihe house, which was owned bv Mrs. J. C. Little, and was occupied by Mr. T. Lawrence, was totally destroyed, and none of the contents was saved. Damage was also caused to an adjoining house owned by Mr. Sutherland and occupied by Mr. A. Rendel. The occupants of the destroyed building were absent at the time and there was a very strong southerly wind. Three rooms of the Newtown Park kiosk were destroyed by fire early this morning <ind a bedroom was badly damaged. The kiosk was used as a combined tea room and private residence. It was owned by the City Council and occupied by Mrs. Alice Hilda Cousins. The contents were insured for £6OO in the Royal Office and the building for £SOO in the Standard Office.
