OHINEMURI COUNCIL.
RESULT OF BY-ELECTION.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] PAEROA, Friday.
At a by-election for the Karangahake Riding of the Ohinemuri County Council to-day, Mr. J. B. Morris was elected. The election was rendered necessary through the death of Mr. A. D. McGuire. The voting was: J. B. Morris, 41; T, A. Barrett, 31. The newly-elected councillor is an "old identity" in the goldfields, and has been interested in mining concerns for the past 30 years.
