CIVIC SQUARE SCHEME.

THE HAMILTON PROPOSAL. FURTHER PROGRESS MADE. [BY TELEGRAPH. OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] HAMILTON, Thursday. The scheme for excavating Garden Place, on the . west side of Victoria Street, Hamilton, and creating a civic square with a thoroughfare through into Collingwood Street and Ward Street, was again considered by the Hamilton Borough Council last evening. A recommendation from the Works Committee, that negotiations be made with property owners concerned to ascertain the basis on which they could deal with the council, was adopted. The Borough engineer, Mr. R. Worley, furnished a report dealing with the disposal of spoil from the proposed works.
