HiAWKE'S BAY'S INTENTIONS*
CASE FOR APPEAL COUNCIL.
RESOLUTIONS AT MEETING. -A
[by telegraph.—press association.] NAPIER, Tuesday. The Hawke's Bay Rugby Union to-day notified the New Zealand Rugby Union that it would/appeal to the New Zealand. Appeal COoncil against the .decision of the New Zealand Management Committee on the Wairarapa protes;. in connection with the Ranfurly Shield. The Hawke's Bay Union is now preparing its case for submission, to the Appeal Council. The following resolution .was carried afr a special meeting of the Hawke's Bav Union: — "Pending a final decision in regard to the protest between Wairarapa and Hawke's Bay in connection with the Ranfurly Shield, this union notifies the Taranaki, Manawhenua and Canterbury Rugby, Unions that in the event of Hawke's Bay being defeated in any of these games, and the result of the protest , being in our favour, the shield will be forwarded to the New Zealand Rugby Union with a request that it be handed over to the first successful challenger. Failing thfe parent body agreeing to our wishes, the-shield will be retained by the Hawke's . Bay Rugby Union."
