MAUNGAKIEKIE CLUB. OPENING DAY AT TITIRANGI. The official opening of the Maungakiekie Golf Club at the Titirangi links took plaoe on Saturday afternoon, when mixed foursomes were played. The day was ideal and the links yrere in first-clas3 order. About 65 pairs took part in the match, wliich resulted in a tie between T. H. Chanmull and Miss H. Laurenson, 11, and G. M; White and Mrs. White. 17, 2 up. Other cards were:—K. M. George and Mrs. J. .0. Fiulay 5, 1 down; G. C. St. Georgo and Mrs. Roberts, 14. 1 down; L. Etheringtm and Mrs. Friar. IS 1 down; F. Trice and Mis 3 K. McCabe. 13. 1 down; H. A. Bandrup and Mrs. Rutherford. 11. 1 down: J. B. Stewart and Miss D. Horton. 9. 1 down: R. f). and Mrs. Gardner, 12. 2 down; H. S. Keosing and Miss Stewart. 14. 2 down. Tile putting competition held during fVe evening by electric ligbt was won by ,T. M. Hockin and Miss K. Horton. who retui">:ed a card of 25 for the 14 holes. Members and their friend" were th? guest? of the president, and Mrs. G. L. Taylor and the captain at afternoon tea.
