TAXIS IN BRITAIN.
NEW SCALE OF FARES. A. and N.Z. LONDON. April 7. The Home Secretary, Sir W. JoynsonHicks, announced iti the House of Commons that an agreement had been reached regarding the new scale of taxi-cab fares, namely, 6d for the first two-thirds of a mile and 3d for each additional one-third, with 4s an hour for waiting.
