OBITUARY.
COLONEL ROBERT OWEN. (Received April 8, 5.5 p.m.) A. and N.Z. LONDON. April 7. The death is announced of LieutenantColonel Robert Haylock Owen, C.M.G., who commanded the Third Battalion of the Australian Forces at Gallipoli. Colonel Owen, who was born in Sydney, served in the Sudan and later joined the South Lancashire Regiment. At one time ho was attached to the staff of the New Zealand Forces, and on the outbreak of the European war he was placed in command of the Third Battalion of the Australian Forces.
