INACCURATE WEIGHTS.
A TOBACCONIST Ff NED. "I expect yoc. would save quite a few ounces of tobacco in a year," said Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., when T. J. C. Robson, tobacconist, of Otahuhu, was charged in the Police Court yesterday with being in possession of an incorrect pair of scales. An inspector of weights and measures said the scales were inaccurate against the customer to the extent of two drams. As the scales were used for weighing tobacco this was a considerable inaccuracy. The magistrate imposed a fine of £4 and ordered the scales to be forfeited. For having in his possession weights which were not stamped, J. Hyland was fined £2.
