BUSH WORKERS' DISMISSAL
GOVERNMENT'S DECISION. RETAINING MARRIED MEN. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.! WELLINGTON, Friday. One of the requests made to the Minister of Railways, Mr. Coates, by a deputation which approached him on Tuesday was that the Government should reconsider certain proposals which entailed the dismissal of twenty-five bush workers from the Government forests at Pokaka and Erua in the King Country. A decision has since been reached in the matter and Mr. Coates has advised Mr. R. McKeen, M.P.. to the effect that as far as the single men are concerned the notices of dismissal, which expire tomorrow, must be given effect to. In the case of the married men, however, the notices will be cancelled, in the meantime.
