THE YACHT SQUADRON.

EXTENDED CRUISING RACE. The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron held an extended cruising race to Te Kttme on Saturday for first and second-class yachts and also a harbour race for class M. The race for keel yaohts was started at 2.15 and brought out 11 competitors. At gunfiro Rawene crossed tho lino first, closely followed by Kotiri. Moana, Prize. Nga-Toa, Wnitangi and Victory, and then camo Waione, Ariki and Itangi. and Waitangi gradually overhauled the smaller boats and when tho Lighthouse was readied the ordpr was Ariki. Waitangi, Nga-Toa, Moana, Prize, Raweno, Victory. Waione. Kotiri and Rangi. Below Brown's Island Moana passed Nga-Toa. but wheu the Sisters were reached Nga-Toa set her biti spinnaker. ' which enabled her to overhaul Moana. Under Ponni Island Waitangi and Ngn-Toa had a luffing match, but both finally squared away. All carried spinnakers except Ariki, Passing Ruth's Island, the order was: Ariki. Ngn-Toa. Waitangi. Moana, Prize. Victory, Rawene, Waiono, Kotiri. Rangi. Rawene had a mishap at this stage and gave up. After clearing tho Waiheke Passage it was a flat run to To Kume. The finishing times were:—Ariki t Gh 17m; NgaToa. AUCKLAND V. H.M.S. RENOWN NEXT SATURDAY'S MATCH. A special Association football match between the Auckland representative team and H.M.S. Renown's team will be played at Blandiord Park on Saturday.
