Desert Gold also fouied the flagship, but suffered.no damage. She carried on for some distance but finally gave up. Meanwhile Rona passed Joan and led her on both rounds of the course, winnning_ very easily. The finishing tunes were:—Rona (scr), 4h 8m 525; Joan (3m). 4h 15m 275. Result: Rona, 1; Joan, 2. Eona also won the champion flag in this class. A protest has been entered by Joan against Rona on the ground that the entry was received after the advertised time cf closing.
