STREET COLLISION.
TRAM STRIKES MOTOR-TRUCK. DRIVER SEVERELY SHAKEN. A severe collision between a tramcar Sand a motor-truck occurred in Wellesley Street East about 4.30 yesterday afternoon, resulting in extensivo damage to the forepart of the truck. The truck, which was driven by the owner, Mr. J. B. Buck, of 3, St. Andrew's Road, Epsom, was turning out from the petrol service station in Wellesley Street. The front wheels were on the tramlines.when the bonnet was struck by an inward-bound tramcar, travelling down the street. Mr. Buck was thrown several yards out on to the road, fortunately out of the path of the tramcar. He was severely shaken and bruised, but was able to go home after receiving attention at the St. John Ambulance station. The radiator of the truck was smashed and the bonnet was badly bent. The front wheels and engine also suffered, while broken glass from the windscreen littered the roadway. No damage was done to the tramcar.
