VISIT OF THE CASSIOPEE.
OFFICIAL CALLS EXCHANGED. The presence of the French war sloop Cassiopee • was the occasion yesterday' of the exchanging of official calls between the commander, Captain J. Deeoux, and ■* representative citizensu In the morning Captain Decoux, accompanied by - M. Paul Serro, French Consul, called upon the Mayor, Mr. G. Baildoo, and later upon the chairman of the Harbour Board, Mr. 11. R. Mackenzie. These calls were returned in the afternoon. » - The officers and men of the sloop have been extended the free use of the trams and the municipal baths, and have also the privilege of free admission to tho Zoological Park.
