CABARET CLUB SURPRISE
MIDNIGHT POLICE RAID. WELL-KNOWN PEOPLE PRESENT;. A - and N.Z. LONDON, Dec. 12. The Kit Cat Club, one of the best known of the West End dance clubs, v-as raided yesterday at midnight, when 'her* was a fashionable attendance to see a cabaret performance. Many people well known in the world ol politics and the stage dashed to the exits, rather than give their names lo the police, but most of the members present complied with the police requests.
The club officials are unable to give any reason for the raid.
The club membership includes Sir William Joynson-Hicks, and other members of the Cabinet. One of Sir William Joynson-Hicks' sons is a member of the committee.
