Congratulations to Sir Austen Chamberlain, British Secretary for Foreign Affairs, on being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize were offered by the President of the Coun-. cil of the League of Nations. Sir Austen Chamberlain said he had been delighted with the congratulations which the Imperial Conference delegates extended to Britain upon the Locarno Pact. " Britain has now," he said, " received further recognition from a more independent and a more international source which dedicates us afresh to efforts, for reconciliation and peace throughout the world and the strengthening of the League of Nations." '
